Breony Bearman grew up with a passion for the performing arts, partaking in ballet, speech and drama, and music theatre. She completed her Master of Music at the University of Waikato in early 2024. Breony came second in the Napier Aria Competition and won the prestigious Becroft Aria, Lockwood NZ Aria, and Nicholas Tarling competitions. She has performed the role of Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito with the Croatian Opera Academy, sung the soprano solo in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the Kāpiti Concert Orchestra, and understudied the role of Floria Tosca with Wellington Opera. Later this year, Breony looks forward to furthering her study and singing the title role in Ariadne auf Naxos with Dramatic Voices Berlin.
