In this year’s Symphonic Journey, young musicians and community players join forces with the Manukau Symphony Orchestra to explore music of joy, elegance, and discovery. Dvořák’s radiant Symphony No. 8 celebrates the song of nature and the optimism of new beginnings; Shostakovich’s graceful Waltz No. 2 brings charm and dance to the concert hall; and New Zealand composer Erin Fagan offers a fresh voice from our own shores. Together, these works open NEW HORIZONS — for the players who learn and grow through music, and for audiences who share in their journey.

A FREE informal playthrough Sunday at 5pm for friends, family and public at Four Winds Theatre, the MSO’s home in the Due Drop Events Centre.
