Sponsoring a Chair in the orchestra is like adopting a musician for a year. This programme makes a huge difference to the orchestra as a whole, as well as to each sponsored musician. What’s more, feedback tells us that Chair sponsors enjoy a deep sense of purpose and achievement when they make playing in MSO possible for someone. 

How does it work? We nominate an average cost that represents the price for a musician to play in the orchestra – it applies to all ages and stages of musicianship, from our best mentors to our youngest players. Our recommended price is $3000  and has been for several years. We are doing our best to maintain this sum, even in the face of a challenging economic climate where arts are not a priority for government. 

Should you choose to join our growing family of sponsors, this gift can be made in one sum at the beginning of 2025 or in small instalments throughout the year. 

All our Chair sponsors are gratefully acknowledged in our concert programmes, on our website and where permission is given, on social media. All donations are tax deductible.
